Install on top of CentOS
« on: September 12, 2013, 05:50:46 PM »
I want to install SME(Koozali) on top of CentOS installation.
I found a partial here, http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_on_CentOS_6, but I cannot find the rest of this post.
Should I install x64 minimal or standard server?
How do I install the SME templates on top of the CentOS install?

This is facilitate an openvz template to be used in Proxmox.
SME 8.0
Quad 6600
8gb DDR2 800
8 TB RAID 5
Dual Gigabit NIC
I Still Don't KNOW WHAT I AM DOING. Please, don't assume I know anything about Linux or Centos, I just know hardware

I'm not a proxmox poweruser, but i thought that you can use KVM/QUEMU instead of openvz. Maybe it is a little more easier than to made an openvz template.
I know some of us who use libvirt in virtual environment without problems. For my part i use virtualbox which is another solution..
I fear that you can have a SME Server without tests of the community....this is my 2c advice.
See http://wiki.contribs.org/Koozali_Foundation

Everything was going great until this
Code: [Select]
# signal-event

Can't locate esmith/DB.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 .) at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/esmith/DB/Record.pm line 11.

Well, not everything. I had to increase hard drive to 40gb in order to be able to install SME
SME 8.0
Quad 6600
8gb DDR2 800
8 TB RAID 5
Dual Gigabit NIC
I Still Don't KNOW WHAT I AM DOING. Please, don't assume I know anything about Linux or Centos, I just know hardware

When does /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/esmith/db.pm get install.
I checked this location against the location of a production SME Server. I am missing db.pm
SME 8.0
Quad 6600
8gb DDR2 800
8 TB RAID 5
Dual Gigabit NIC

You need e-smith-lib. Plus the many perl-* rpms which are dependencies.
