It makes common sense to me to read the Manual for a major piece of operating system like SME server or any other server for that matter.
This is a quality professional server distribution, & usage implies security & reliability of data stored on that server, thus the system administrator needs to understand the software they are using so the security & reliability are not affected by the administrators wrong actions.
Would it really have been that hard or time consuming to even quickly read through the manual & FAQ, at least once. They provide vital & important information for you the end user. You say you "had a look", but it must have been a quick short look with much content not read, there is a major section on this Pseudonyms topic in the Manual, how could you miss seeing it if you had really read the Manual (or FAQ) !
You did not have to infer anything about where the information you wanted would or would not be, that is only your unknowledgable self pretending that you already know about SME server, all you had to do was read the Manual (or FAQ) fully & you would have found what you wanted.
Typically with most other software & systems etc, the FAQ is always a good starting point as it tends to cover the most Frequently Asked Questions that new users have, so even reading that fully would have given you the answer.
I am just trying to steer you towards using the documentation in your future use of sme server, as clearly there is much you have not read, & I know that there is much information available that answers many many questions of users.
The matter of my failing to find the relevant information, and apparently lot of other users' of SME Server, should raise the issue of how well are organized and catalogued the available resources.
Nobody here is paid, this is all the work of volunteers over many years of ongoing effort, & they do the best they can in the spare time they have available.
This is indeed a self help community, people will assist you, but they like to see you made some basic efforts to get the information & have read what is available (which will answer most things).
The way that complaints or suggestions for improvement are handled here, is in bugzilla, also see link at top of Forums. You create a new account with a valid email address, not your existing forum user name, & then you can lodge a NFR (New Feature Request) asking for documentation Indexing improvements, or whatever it is you feel is inadequate.
