i have been reading about this alot on this forum. they say that e-smith 5.5 has a bandwidth monition thats been integrated with the server-manager or console. i was wondering if this perticular utility exists as a rmp and can i integrate it with my e-smith 5.0?

Your information is incorrect. There is no bandwidth monitor integrated in any way. The iproute RPM has been installed since version 5.0, and can be used for traffic shaping, but isn't configured to do so.

See /usr/share/doc/iproute-2.2.4/ on your system.

this is a cut paste from one of the forums. i was refering to it...

>Please add a panel or a configuration parameter to limit incoming and outgoing bandwidth by ip and port.

You already have the cbq-init script provided in v0.3b2 with SME 5.5

It is a useful and easy way for getting some QOS working with your SME.
You can find it in /sbin/cbq I think.

If you need more info, or if it is too "light" for you, the actual is v0.7, a bit less easy to use. Anyway, you still have the "tc" and "ip" commands of iproute2...
