DNS-Forwading
« on: July 06, 2014, 11:28:26 PM »
Hallo togesther,

I can currently not create a host name in the Admin Manager, because a DNS forwarding has been set up. I do not know where I have set up this. I was hoping that I can reset it back to its original state with a parameter. I had this situation before, but can not find the solution. Can you give me a help?

Thanks and regards
Detlev

Look in the server manager Domains panel & select resolve locally (or similar).

PLEASE also take the time to read the Manual (twice), as this is covered there. It is safe to change existing entries from external DNS server to locally resolve.
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.

Hi Janet,

I appreciate your knowledge very much, but teach not always so. I know where one enters the DNS server, but that's not the problem. I can not fill hostnames and Addresses somewhere because a DNS forwarding is set. I had this issue before a long time and solved it. I can not find this place merely.

A quick search finds this: http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=32825.0

Like Janet said, it is worth the time to read it twice, maybe even thrice :-)

The answer I gave is correct & following my advice should resolve your problem. Please take the time to try it rather than ignoring it.

Oh yes, you have so right. I've actually over flight read about the content and find not the basics. The fact that the settings of domains and DNS are so nearly related, I was not clear. Thank you for your patience.
