UPS shutdown software

UPS shutdown software

I intend to use a Tripp Internet 500 Office UPS (small) for my E-smith server. Their smart UPS is supposedly optimized for RedHat Linux (specialized version). Any problems loading this with E-Smith?

I assume that most of these systems are somehow UPS protected and others have to deal with this. I see APC has a Linux version of their software but also Caldera, etc ceretified. Tripp only RedHat.

Without having a close look at the software in question, I can't say definitively, but I would guess that you wouldn't have problems with this software. If you need to compile the software, you should do that on another Linux machine, preferably RedHat of the same version as your e-smith server (6.0 for E-smith 3.x, 6.1 for E-smith 4). There is some documentation to guide you in making modifications to the E-smith server/gateway at http://www.e-smith.org/custom/.
