Can I prevent client machines from trying to use IP v6?
« on: December 15, 2014, 10:02:25 PM »
A client machine, running Windows 8.1, on my local network, had difficulties connecting to the outside world. I found out that on the client, in the local area connection settings, both IPv4 and IPv6 were marked. Removing the mark for IPv6 seems to have remedied the situation.

But is there a setting I can use on  the server, in order to tell clients not to attempt to use IPv6?

Best regards,

There may be a registry setting you can use, via a login script.

There's no magic way that the server can tell client machines not to use IPv6. It would be a major security problem if there were.
