Google apps and sme server

(1/1)

masotsha:
Hello.  I use google apps for my company email. If I connect directly to the internet, bypassing the smeserver, I am able to send and receive emails. How do I enable googleapps to transmit via my server?

Thanks

mmccarn:
My first guess is that you need to disable (or reconfigure) the SME Server SMTP proxy.

You can completely disable the SMTP proxy in server-manager under 'Security' -> 'Proxy settings'.

The SMTP proxy is enabled by default in order to prevent infected LAN workstations from sending spam (among other reasons).

I think you mean to say "when I connect to the internet via smeserver, googeapps mail doesn't work correctly". If that is true, please report a bug in detail, via the bug tracker.

That's true, but does it have anything to do with googleapps? I don't know anything about googleapps, so I can't guess how you "enable" stuff with it. But a better description of the problem would probably help us.

I'm speculating but possibly the op is saying that Gmail webmail works but that they can't figure out the mail settings to enter for the user account on the sme server?
