Restoring V8,2 Backup to V9
« on: December 16, 2015, 07:35:51 AM »
Trying to restore a backup from a V8.2 to a V9.1. Is a Dar Backup from a workstation.

Backup seems to restore OK but I never get the restore complete message. Have I missed something or is this a bug ??

Thanks

please, take a look in bugzilla about similar issues and, if it's the case, file a new bug, thank you

It depends what you mean by "never".
How long did you wait.
You really need to wait until you see the restore is complete message or the restore will not be completed correctly.
There can be a long wait involved after seeing the list of files & before the restore is complete message appears

The whole procedure can take many many hours (eg 8, 10, 15, etc to do a restore depending how big your data set is & speed of drives & network connections etc.

Of course there may be some other bug issue.

Waited 12 hrs....

Well that might not have been long enough, try waiting a few more hours.
Check the bugs to see if any apply to your situation.

OK, I have taken all that onboard. The data is actually only 100Gb. With 2.8Ghz processing and Gb networking I thought it might just be a bit quicker than that but I will keep waiting

Janet, I have noted your comments that restore takes longer than backup.

Maybe I will take a stroll from AK --> WN and back while I wait -lol !!
