well.. when you posted there was only one question:

Quote
Ok in this mode, if i change password of a user on domain server, do i have to change the password of the same user on the accountapp computer?

and I answered "yes, sure"

you edited your post adding another question..

there's no (easy/available) sync feature between 2 or more SME servers.. each time you create/edit/lock an user on the "main" server, you have to replicate the same on the others.

hope this is clear enough now

Ok. thanks for the help.
I think we should select another distribution of linux. Is this feature available in nethserver? if yes i will continue this forum on Nethserver site.

well..

you aren't telling us what you really need and why you need a separate server..

you'd take a plain centos and join it to SME's domain (see https://wiki.contribs.org/Client_Authentication), so that you have only a domain server..

anyway, even if OT here, I can tell you that neither NS supports such a feature.

again, if you want help, tell us all the whole plot.. because, maybe, you're using the wrong approach to the problem (see http://xyproblem.info/)

Actually this is my prospect.
think about there is a windows 2012 server as active directory domain controller.
and there is a windows 7 workstation which is connected to that domain controller.

Now i want a linux comptuer to act as a workstation like the above example.

Becase the Account package supplier asks us to install their software on a standalone linux workstation. This workstation must be accessible also over the openvpn bridge with domain user accounts.

so, in all of this, I can't find where SME comes out..

SME is not a workstation.. can you clarify, please? because we are horribly OT here

moving to general discussion

Ok thanks. I will try with Centos or ubuntu.

Centos is also a server distribution.  Ubuntu, Fedora or Mint are the possible ones that come to mind.

well.. centos can work as a workstation too, but I tend to agree that Ubuntu/Mint are more desktop oriented and, AFAIK, they both have some AD join features..
