In Memoriam - Tony Keane
« on: April 04, 2016, 06:15:10 PM »
It is with huge sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of Tony Keane last Friday 1st April.

Tony was a long time user and supporter of SME.

He was instrumental in setting up Koozali Foundation and despite having to eventually leave his post due to a variety of personal commitments, he was always on hand to offer us advice and support.

He was both a fantastic computer tech, and a great friend too, and it was a privilege for me to meet him when I visited New Zealand a couple of years back.

I considered him a very close friend, despite the physical distance, and losing him is like losing my right arm.

Greg Zartman and I have spoken to his family and have passed on our condolences.

The family are having a small service this Friday 8th April at 11am NZ time. They are going to try and set up a live feed so it can be watched online. I would have tried to have flown out there myself but unfortunately I am booked to go to Sri Lanka on Friday.

This is very sad news indeed, prayers and condolences to Tony's family and close friends!  He will be missed but now I can imagine Tony and Chris are trying to push SME up their in the sky.
