Third NIC for Isolated Subnet?
« on: May 05, 2016, 06:18:11 PM »
I have a scenario where I need to offer public access via a wireless router, but it needs to forbid all access to the other traffic on my LAN and VPN connected LAN.  I currently have 192.168.0.* and 192.168.1.* on my network, but would like to offer out 192.168.10.x for public access.

How can this be configured on SME Server?

SME Server does not support three network cards.

This thread should be moved to the Contribs forum since this is not a standard feature.

So from what I'm seeing here, CoovaChili is not supported in 9.x.  Any idea of how to get in touch with Daniel B. regarding having a discussion about how to get this working?

Where does it say 'not supported' ?
...
1. Read the Manual
2. Read the Wiki
3. Don't ask for support on Unsupported versions of software
4. I have a job, wife, and kids and do this in my spare time. If you want something fixed, please help.

there's no evidence that it is not supported, just that it has not been tested..

@ylluminate: installa  virtual SME with 3 nics, try and report back, thank you

There is evidence....look in the smecontribs folder...there isn't no rpm for this contrib as it is broken on sme8 and sme9.

Of course they are as that version is the last known version to support the contrib

I meant that those rpms have never moved to SME8 contribs section and nobody (IIUC) tested them..

in any case, Daniel is maybe the only one that could help us..

I indeed haven't compiled (nor tested) this on SME9 because I do not use the contrib anymore. Anybody interested in maintaining it ?
C'est la fin du monde !!!
