Topic: Kernel panic, Power shutup during software upda

Sme serwer 9.1. Raid1
Got accidental Power shutdown during yum upgrade software.

ERST: Failed to get Error Log Address Range.
Kernel Panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block(0,0)

Accesed serwer using Linux rescue  two  disks are ok No damage or errors

I could restart server selecting previous kernel before boot and working without any problems
Reinstalled Grub but a problem still persist, upgraded software from cd but still got the same error.

it seems that the last kernel setup didn't work..

try

Code: [Select]

rpm -qa kernel

you'd see all the kernels on your system
try removing the problematic one (the first in the list.. but double check)

rpm -e kernel-X.y.z

you have to specify the full kernel version

once done (if it wored), a

Code: [Select]

yum update
should reinstall the missing kernel

Thanks, it works.
Only issue which I have look at is error in logs:
Failed to load firmware "Radeon/R600_rlc.bin"
Fatal error during GPU init.
I'm not sure if it is new or something existing. SME server is running on HP Proliant Microserver

My HP Microservers throw this, spent a little time investigation in time past CentOS Bug https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=6296

Just an observation, Latest Kernel I am no longer seeing this error message on my Microserver
