Antivirus settings
« on: July 02, 2016, 10:35:12 PM »
I'm running SME 9.1, fully updated.  The Antivirus panel in the server-manager only has the option to scan daily, weekly, or not at all.  Is there any way to configure when the scans happen?  I have it set to weekly, and the scan seems to happen at the same time as my full backup.  The i/o contention is slowing down both operations.  Yes, the other option would be to change when the backup happens, but it seems there should be a way to adjust the schedule for both operations.  Am I missing something?

I agree, scheduled times should be adjustable. I believe 4AM is also a busy time, and in this 'cloud' age,a server could well be located NOT in the TZ where the users are...

Is there a way to do this, or would it be a NFR?

I remember having this discussed before, for 4AM for ME was inconvenient and there was no way to change this. I think we need to put in a NFR.

You can create a custom template to overwrite /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/crontab/clamav if you want to change the schedule of this task (or disable the scan from the server-manager and create your own cron job, which calls /sbin/e-smith/smeserver-clamscan at the time you want)
C'est la fin du monde !!!
