If you Google for the PBLK error you will see that it is to do with old and buggy BIOSs. You can avoid it by adding acpi=off in the grub entry to see it it fixes it though that will have other effects which you should read up about.
If possible upgrade your BIOS, but my guess is you are using an old board and can't. That may ALSO explain the issue with the kernel panic.
Suggest you post details of the Board and BIOS details, though you can probably Google for information yourself.
