Apple require HTTPS connections for iOS apps by the end of 2016
« on: December 22, 2016, 12:00:21 PM »
Hi,
I got this message from my IT supplier:

"
From 1st January 2017, Apple will require all connections made by apps on iOS devices to be over HTTPS. All certificates for HTTPS connections will need to be issued from a Certificate Authority (CA) trusted by iOS.

This will affect Apple iOS devices such as iPhones, iPads and Mac computers. If your on-premise Microsoft Exchange Server uses a self-signed or CA-signed certificate, it MUST be from a Trusted Root Certificate from 1 January 2017. Hosted Exchange and Office 365 users will be unaffected.

If you’re currently using a self-signed certificate or a corporate CA-generated certificate, you will need to update your server certificate before this date.
"

Is there anything to do in order to avoid issues with Apple devices connecting to SME server ?
(Port 995 and 465 SSL)

Thanks

I haven't installed any specific certificate on my SME ... I guess I use the default SME one.
Should I use another certificate ?

Safari on my iPhone connects to my SME server over https with a Let's Encrypt certificate, no errors, warnings, or other issues.
