Hi trazomtg and welcome!

thank you for your offer and I think it will be very much welcomed. Can you please send an email to secretary@koozali.org so the secretary can contact you off-line and share information?

Thanks a heap!

Welcome Trazomtg,

You can even contact in the same time president@koozali.org. I will be pleased to discuss with you and see how you could be a fit in the dev team.

If you are not already familiar with our development procedures you can head to the wiki and search for the development category.

It seems that our 'president' is non responsive, that could be a problem with such a generous offer. Maybe better follow up on the initial advise to mail secretary@koozali.org.

So our 'president' has no auto responder or 'on leave' message with an alternative contact methos on his 'president' account? What a luxury he can afford himself. Just like a big boss of an enterprise with millions to spare and resources all over the place. Not that I ever saw a president act that way, and I have seen a few.

It shows that our on boarding process is worse then worse... I'm sure trazomtg would agree.

Maybe you're right, but being polemical won't solve the problem and won't help anyone

Sure, hence our on boarding process is not present and overruling an advice is something we should not do. The problem can be solved to get in touch with trazomtg directly, apologise and get him on the right track asap. Not simply refer him to the wiki. trazomtg was very specific, we need to act accordingly.

because trazomtg asked here nicely and is still in the dark. He deserves a fair response after almost 2 weeks of non resposiveness from Koozali.

While the whole world is able to talk, chat, video conf with each other, the whole world is able to communicate, community members here are being disabled. No PM's, no way of communicating directly. Like a dinosaur, just living in 2017.

Where is the community manager with all the promises? Where are the upgraded community eco-system upgrades like wiki etc. None of all that. And our president is on 'vacation'.....

Hi,

i though about supervivion of SMEserver. Somebody tells that he is using Zabbix but it's not convenient with SMEserver. Too work for too small reseults.
I wonder whether a plugin Nagios or Tivoli would be much more effective.

it would be necessary first
to collect information about all harware used in SMEserver
to collect informations about all aplications working in SMEserver
to have a network plan  ...etc...

then:
to fix the thresholds alerts for network, sysyems and applications
AND which would be a very PLUS:  correlations between all the alerts!!

then .... others ...

what do you think about that?
Best regards
T

That's not what I said. Zabbix is already integrated (I maintain agent and proxy at least) and gives great results. But it's not meant to monitor just a single host. The same applies to nagios or Tivoli. But you can of course help in having something better (by enhancing zabbix agent scripts, or maintaining a flexible templates for Zabbix for example)

hi,

thanks for your response.
i have a question:  what kind of alerts do you receive on your zabbix server when, for example, a router or a switch goes down if we imagine you have several LAN?

Best regards

You can have anything you want. Zabbix is very flexible. But be ready to spend several full weeks (or months) on it if you want to really use it. I myself use pretty simple email + xmpp notifications, with an escalation on my ticket system if the problem is not acked in 30 min

do you have any corelation between the diferrent alerts? that's for deleting  redundancy and for executing automatics scripts?

Testing and adding the L2TPD/Ipsec contrib would be a big help as we can then dump PPTP.

The best thing about it is that it is supported on pretty well any mobile phone out of the box with no extra software required, and it needs nothing special on Koozali SME to work - just a few extra RPMs from repos and the config templates. And it does not require Windows (I do not run any Windows anywhere.....)

https://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=53021
https://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8890

The Libreswan RPM needs a thorough going over as well - I have done what I can but it needs a better coder than me to take a look at it and smooth out the wrinkles.

A panel in the server-manager for both would then be great.
...
1. Read the Manual
2. Read the Wiki
3. Don't ask for support on Unsupported versions of software
4. I have a job, wife, and kids and do this in my spare time. If you want something fixed, please help.

As said RequestedDeletion, you can do whatever you want of your free time. Contributing is first a matter of doing something useful for you or at least interesting intelectually for you.
if you want to update nagios contrib for SME9 you are free to go.

I would suggest first reading, the following as part of the job is already done:

Also you might start by learning how to set up a build server to work for SME, what I would like to exchange with you by mail, but I have no answer following my answer (2017-06-22 16:04) to your last mail (2017-06-22 16:04).

see for a start:
