Hi there
I have added an existing HDD with data formatted as FAT32 to my e-smith server, which allows me to see all the files from another pc on the network, but I cannot write or change data on the HD. I have found several postings about adding a second HDD, but I still have problems with file rights. Please help...
This is the way, I did it:
First, I created the i-bay in the server manager (called music). Hereafter, I can create and access files from a Windows pc on the network in that i-bay.
Second, I mount the second HDD (with existing data - FAT32) with the following command:
mount /dev/hdb5 /home/e-smith/files/ibays/music/files -t vfat
This enables me to see all the files, but I am not able to change them or to add new files.
Please advice - what am I doing wrong? Is it because the HD is formatted as FAT32 or did I forget something in the procedure?
Any help is highly appreciated...
