For anyone contemplating a toes in the water..updated my long running sme9 home server to sme10, actually did it four times for fun
New SSD for good measure, single drive installed with the nolvm switch, sme9 console backup and restored on the sme10 after it was installed using the console restore. Wanted to make sure all was good so didn't use the restore when asked during the sme10 install, I did one that way early on .. have tested with 2 or more disks (x3) raid was as normal for sme.
Gotchas, none really as such, BUT, be aware of custom templates as they will be restored and may not do what you think in sme10, I had one such that prevented httpd starting, note all versions of sme have had same warning..old lessons. Only other is to always, always, reboot for most should be fine, me I also went through the console Configure menu just to be sure and let it reboot/reconfig..oh and yes, for some reason on my little HP microserver when restored and doing reconfigure found it had swapped the eth card I was using ?? or I wasn't paying attention..
All up done..new hardware..also found the Microserver is getting a little long in the tooth, couldn't handle my first choice of new ssd, a Samsung 880 enterprise drive, initial install it was blazingly quick, to quick, was getting ata3 errors, went back to a Samsung 840 evo at first, no probs (was one of 2 that sme9 was on) then got a new Crucial ssd, quietly glowing in the corner now.
So jump in water is nice and warm..
