Intel Ethernet Controller I225V 2.5Gb
« on: November 08, 2021, 04:39:17 PM »
I am testing SME10 on a Minisforum U820 computer, equipped with 2 LAN Port, one basic Realtek one  and another one Intel Ethernet Controller I225V 2.5Gb.

The Intel works well under MS Windows, but the SME10 server, despite seeing it in the setup, does not activated it.

The device seems to be down - no lights at the back.
Sometimes, an "ifconfig ensp1s0 down", then a reboot sometimes does the trick, it then works ... But another reboot brings the same issue.

Any ideas ?

Thanks & regards.

Check if it is supported under CentOS 7.

Ah, so it's not just mine then. I have an Intel 82754 1.25GB Ethernet PCIe card which does exactly as you describe, with one important difference - it does it on Windows too. I can't get it to work reliably anywhere.

I've now got a bog standard Startech PCIe card to try. Will let you know how I get on.

Hmmm - not sure it is supported as yet.

Currently you can download the code, but will have to roll your own driver though I am not sure how successful that will be.

Someone on the web was complaining about a Startech PCIe card that worked fine on its own, but as soon as it was the second NIC in a system it didn't. I'll see what else I can find out
