DNS Issue after upgrade? Maybe not
« on: October 25, 2022, 01:01:13 AM »
Hey everyone, looking for some assistance as I have a strange one.

After upgrading to 10.1 we are exeperincing issues with accessing my website.

Setup is server only
Website is a shopify website.

Error coming up is ERR_Name_Not_Resolved

No other changes to DNS settings internally or externally (external through wordwidedns.com)

Also thought it may be the self signed certificate causing the issue.

Looking for ideas.

Thanks

In server-manager under review config it states dns server address is the actual server ip address not the DNS server ip? When a DNS forwarder has been configured could this be the issue?

Networking Parameters
Server Mode   serveronly
Local IP address / subnet mask   192.168.130.13/255.255.255.0
Gateway   192.168.130.1
Additional local networks   192.168.130.0/255.255.255.0
DHCP server   disabled

Server names
DNS server   192.168.130.13

Guessing you are on a FTTN or FTTC connection, gateway is the NBN modem/router?

Domaion Information from that Server-mnager window would also be useful

Is this your website? - https://www.oceaniacycles.com.au/

If yes no probs accessing for me.

I have same setup just with iiNet

Current list of domains
Domain name   Brief description   i-bay   Domain DNS servers   Modify   Remove
oceaniabikes.com.au   Oceania Bikes   Primary   Internet DNS servers   Modify   Remove
oceaniacycles.com.au   oceaniacycles.com.au   Primary   Internet DNS servers   Modify

So just those external on optus NBN?

https://www.oceaniabikes.com.au/ - problems not resolving

https://www.oceaniacycles.com.au/ - is good

Added: whats your forwarding in the router?

I don't believe any forwarding in the router.

This issue has only come up recently after upgrades to SME

no worries, simple answer :-)

So access is fine for me, as I said on iiNet FTTN, so scratch head time

So setup looks fine, suspect Mr Optus is effing about, might be gettingt hacked again - no not funny

So from my optus phone https://www.oceaniacycles.com.au/ - is resolving to a bike rental shop in Fremantle? on my PC and iiNet BNB it5 reolves to a site in Victoria :-)

Suggest Mr Optus has a few issues
