No, unless you reinstall 23H2.
Or you could create local users matching exactly the sme users setting the exact same password as on sme (have to keep this in sync). Access to network shares should be seamless.

This is a very bad news...
I've been trying for hours and days to get our new PC 24H2 onto the domain and I've read dozens of posts on various forums. No solution: I'm just devastated!
Will the new SME11 version solve this problem or will it be the same?

I'm sure, but this has been coming a long time. It is not a new development.

Nope not yet. What have you done to help solve it?

----------------------------------------------------------

Until such time as we get a v11 released there is not much we can do to properly address this.

It is why we have continuously asked for help for months and months, and months, but unfortunately we get almost zero response.

Once we have v11 released we can look at some form of support for 'domain' or 'AD' logons, but it is a hugely complicated area to integrate properly with Koozali SME and we just don't have the resources/manpower to properly tackle it yet.

There have been some efforts to do this on v11 but it depends on non standard upstream sources and is purely test code only. eg:

https://bugs.koozali.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12798 + related bugs + conversations on RocketChat

I also tested a containerised version from another distro that could be used. All of it takes time and effort which we don't have right now.

In the meantime as advised by bunkobugsy you can set a local user and password to match one on SME.

If you want to help then I have posted details of how to do so countless times.

1. Read the Manual
2. Read the Wiki
3. Don't ask for support on Unsupported versions of software
4. I have a job, wife, and kids and do this in my spare time. If you want something fixed, please help.

You probably ought to check with your provider, or use a proper email address rather than a disposable one.

There's a fine line between willing and able. I'd like to help but I have no software development skills. If it's a lack of resources, why not open a fund to raise money to pay coders?
I've been an SME Koozali user for many, many years, I'd like to continue to be one and I'm ready to help in any way I can... And I'm sure I'm not the only one here.

I have said the same thing dozens of times. You don't need to be a coder to help.

This has been explained many times before.

So first, the biggest issue is people to just help. But they are always too busy, or think it is someone elses problem, not theirs. Until it is their problem, like now.

Second, devs are not cheap and would take time to get up to speed on code, and we don't have the funds or time to do either. We have enough cash to run the infra and some reserves, but that's it.

However, you can donate already - looking forward to your contribution.

Of course to help you could start a fund raiser yourself? We'd be quite happy for someone to do that.

Or you could pay a dev yourself to fix your issues?

As above.

Docs, testing, bug finding, bug verification, marketing, social media, website, fundraising, finance.

NONE of which require coder skills.

Take your pick and let us know.
