just wondering does this forum run on a sme?

Most of our cluster runs some form of CentOS, soon to be Rocky, but not specifically SME.

Think there are various reasons - likely to do with behind scenes complexity (it makes my eyes water!). It's like an orchestra.

Things are locked down extremely tightly, for good reason.

SME is good as a single server, but not quite so easy when it comes to sharing eg multi server SSO etc :-)

Horses for courses. SME does what it was designed for. Clustering wasn't it!

Whether we change any of that when we upgrade the cluster I don't know. JP will know more.

Perfect tool for the job then.

I believe one of JPs little side projects might be to look at a more federated/SSO type thing with multiple SMEs working together.

But that is when he is bored with nothing else to do. Which is not now!

SME is perfect for starting a project and host multiple website locally or in the cloud.

SME could be the core of the cluster with its LDAP whne the project grow. As when it grows yu might need a more complexe firewall, a proxy/loadblancer and separate the task to different VM (database, multiple web vm).

Koozali cluster has this last level of complexity.
