Accessing iBays from the web
« on: April 26, 2000, 02:58:34 AM »
I've setup an ibay called "intranet" and can access it from my internal network by using www.domainname.com/intranet, but when I'm on the internet, I can't access it.  I've tried www.domainname.com/intranet and intranet.domainname.com.  Obviously, domainname.com is not my actual domain.

Could someone tell me how this is suppose to be accessed and what I might be doing wrong?

Stone,
I think its crazy to open your server for web access to admin control.
Its your head. However, try the following:XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/e-smith-manager.

Where XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is the ROUTABLE IP ADDRESS GIVEN BY YOUR ISP.

Let me know how this works.

Yes, it would be "crazy" if I wanted to allow outside sources to access the admin interface, only that isn't at all what I've done . . . I hope!  : )

I've created an ibay called "intranet", doesn't mean I've given access to my intranet, and put a "require password for access from internet".  In addition, I've created an ibay called "fullaccess" (not real name) and set that to full access from local network or internet.

Now when I try to connect using 'www.registereddomainname.com', it hits my primary/html folder, as expected, but 'www.registereddomainname.com/intranet' or 'www.registereddomainname.com/fullaccess' returns a page not found or unable to display.  Something like that.  I've also tried intranet.registereddomainname.com.  Nothing.

Any help out there?
