Hello all, just wondering if there is any way of indicating whether my SME 5.5 box has a dialup connection or not. Or do I have to physically look at my external modem to see if the lights show a connection? I am looking for something that might show up under server manager, thanks.

Cyrus,

There is no "direct" way I know of. An indirect method is to look in server manager under "Review Configuration". I believe, the external IP address / subnet mask setting will usually reflect whether or not your modem connection is up or not.

Give it a try.

There is a linkstatus rpm that can be found at ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/StephenNoble/RPMS/noarch/

After installing, goto http://yourserver/linkstatus.jpg. This displays a red or green image is the line is down or up. I've also tested with ISDN and works well.

Hmmm got a little problem, I know the link is up and working fine, but when I load the linkstatus.jpg it shows a red pic with down on it? :-) Is there a way to configure this? It was connected when I installed it, does that matter?
