External dial-up access
« on: November 08, 2002, 12:49:06 AM »
Hi All,

I am going to be installing at a location abourt 10 miles away.

We are swapping over form analogue dial-up to ISDN

I will have a USR analogue modem going spare and thought
it might be suefull to be able to dial in for admin.

The ISDN TA will be on com1 and the USR on com2

How do I achieve this ?

What rpm do i need to install ?

What sware / protocol do I need to dial in with ?

Many Thanks

Graham

I only need to access the console admin page or command line
and do not want to join the LAN [Altho if its easy then it could be
useful !]

Thanks !

Or you can use the built-in Windows VPN client to make a PPTP connection, and your computer will get a LAN IP address and function just like any other PC on the LAN.
