Topic: startup hangs at masq

When I startup my e-smith 5.5 fresh install It hangs at masq.  When I reboot it does a check disk and will start fine about half the time.  One thing that  I noticed was weard is that this is a single processor athlon on a msi k7t266-pro mb and I have both a single and multi processor kernal installed.

Any ideas?
