Gateway.??

Hi All..

Thx to Charlie Brady, my Netcard is now up and running, but i can't find the Gateway
in den new EM4.0b7.??

IP: Ok
DNS: Ok
GW: Where is it..:-))


It's was not that hard to find it in EM 3.1..

It shouldn't be hard to find in 4.0 either :-)

It is set using the console configure option. If you are using your server in server only configuration, it is the first configuration screen that you see. If you are using in server/gateway configuration, with two netcards with a static IP for the external network link, the gateway setting comes up after setting the IP address and netmask of the external link.

Hmmm, im use a Server/gateway option, but the gateway settings never come up..
Maybe my Planet Netcard (eth1) is bad..
It's to late to buy a new one now, the time over here is now 01.45 Night..:-))

Me to, i have order a new 24/7 line to the 18-05-2000..
So i need to get it up and running befor that..:-))

Very surprising. You're quite sure that it isn't there after setting netmask on the external link?

In any case, bypassing the GUI and setting it is not hard:

/sbin/e-smith/config set GatewayIP x.x.x.x
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event console-save

I doubt that is the problem.
