problem with win XP pro
« on: November 25, 2002, 10:37:54 PM »
Hello,
I installed a SME V5.5 and when I want to connect a computer with windows XP pro in the domain it's impossible.

If I connect a computer with windows NT 4.0 = NO problem !

the computer with XP accept the domain but it doesn't want to valid the user in the domain logon.

What I can do ?

( If you speak french is better for me but is not important)

Thanks you.

Try a search for SignOrSeal and e-smith.

Hi Frank, Go to CONTROL PANEL, next ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS, next LOCAL SECURITY SETTINGS, next in the SECURITY OPTIONS in the right windows go to ¨MICROSOFT NETWORK CLIENT: DIGITALLY SING COMMUNICATIONS (if server agrees)¨ if enable turn DISABLE, and the options up and down of this item turn DISABLE, bye.... enjoy...

See http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/howto/samba-howto.html
extract below

Windows 2000/XP Registry Settings
It is suggested that you check the following registry entries which should be set to (0).  This is the default under W2K (but check to confirm) however under XP the default is (1) and definitely needs changing:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Netlogon\Parameters]
"requirestrongkey"=dword:00000000
"requiresignorseal"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\Netlogon\Parameters]
"requirestrongkey"=dword:00000000
"requiresignorseal"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters]
"requirestrongkey"=dword:00000000
"requiresignorseal"=dword:00000000
