I have modified /etc/cron.d/backup by inserting the line: '15 19 * * * root flexbackup -newtape' which allows flexbackup to start and work normally.
My problem is that it disappears after reboot. How do I fix this, please?

create a template of that file, add in your change, expand the template and bingo!
