Hello I know very little about vpns and want to know if it is possible to set up a vpn between an one esmith box on cable connection and andanother  esmith box on dsl connection. I have the dsl boix already setup with a dns name so that I am have my own spam free mail server and want to set up a vpn to allow my sibling access to my home network and vice versa if I go home for the weekend ... I am wondering if anyone here has setup a vpn using  esmith were both systems were set up dhcp . I have about 2 weeks before I make the trip to set up the other esmith box and wanted to know what infor I will need to setup before I leave since I dont allow command access from outside my network ? Any infor will be appreciated  Thanks

You could just create a PPTP connection from a single client to your server.

It is possible to setup an IPSec (FreeS/WAN) VPN between a static IP and a dynamic IP per a post here by Todd Pearsall in June. You set up the static server to listen for connections, and have to start it from the dynamic end. I'm not sure if it's possible to set things up to support both ends being dynamic though...
