Changing the language of the web interface

Hi everyone,

has anyone ever had the idea of letting the web intercafe of e-smith "speak" a language other than english? Is there an easy way of replacing the resources with the according set of strings in a different language?

As the easy configuration that can be done even by unexperienced users it would only be consequent to speak to the users in their own language.

I would like to translate the strings to german.

Regards, K. Mueller.

They sure have! If you go have a look at http://www.e-smith.org/future/, you'll see it there under future releases. I certainly see it as a high priority once 4.0 is released.

Unfortunately there isn't. Internationalisation (I18n for short) is a tricky thing to get even close to right.

Please join the developers mailing list, and offer your services there. I'd like to get people working on this, though realistically it will be a month or so before I can do serious work on it.
