Watchdog support in SME Server?

Hi all,

I want to run a SME server on a Inside Technology computer, providing a simple hardware watchdog support.

Here is the function supported by the motherboard BIOS:

- Watch Dog Timeout Action
By setting this option to Reset a hardware supervision of the software is activated and the software will need to “service” the watchdog in order to avoid system reset. When active the software must “service” within 1.5 minute after power-on, and then within the period set up in the next option. The “service” is executed by dummy writing to 2 I/O addresses subsequently, namely F0h and F3h.
- Watch Dog Timeout Periods
Only valid if above selection is set to Reset. The following set up the allowed time between the each “service” : 0.2, 0.8, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0, 2.4 or 2.8 seconds.

-> Are any watchdog functions included in the SME Server? If not, what rpms should be installed?
-> Do you have any documentation on watchdog functions, or some web links for such functions?

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Olivier.
