Topic: Opening UPD Port 47809

Hi,

I need to open port 47809 on my SME in order to permit communication with an Argus client (for greenhouse watering, shading control, etc.  The Argus server sits behind my firewall, SME).

1/ How to open UDP port 47809?
2/ How to forward incoming data on UDP port 47809 to the privately addressed Argus Server PC.  In my example, the Argus server PC has IP address 192.168.79.5; my SME box is 192.168.79.1.  So basically, how do you set SME to forward incoming data on port 47809 to the computer at 192.168.79.5?

3/ My SME server gets a dynamic IP address for the Internet connection....How can I figure out what that dynamic IP address is from my remote location?  At my remote location, I need to type in the dynamic IP address of the SME server, and then through UDP port 47809 I can access my Argus server and turn the lights on and off, open the windows, start a watering session, etc...

Any help on these three points is very much appreciated!

1+2: install the portforwarding module provided by Darrell May (myezserver.com)
3: you could use for example dyndns.org. Create a domainname there and use a script to update the ip there (I believe it's standard in SME, look at the manuals for that). Let your remote machine connect to the domain name instead op the ip.
