Topic: Port 80 redirection possible?

Hi all,
You've been a great help in the past, so I come  to you again for what I'm sure is a simple question:

Using www.securitymetrics.com's port scan, I've found that my ISP filters port 80, which is why I can't access my html files in the Primary directory from outside my local network.

Is there a way that I can open or redirect that port so that I can host a web page to the outside world?

Of course you can redirect!

BUT you must do it in outside world!
You must point www.yourdomain.com to server.yourdomain.com:82 (for example)
AND on your router or firewall redirect port 82 to server on port 80.

I use all time on my clients. I have ADSL (here in Brazil is 256/128K) with dynamic IP and have LOTs of servers running on this!

You can change the port the Apache web server listens on. I did that for a while and it worked ok but some of the third party SME patches, like the server control panel, didn't seem to work properly. There's a contributed how-to that describes the process in detail:
