SME 5.6 with dynamic IP over ADSL?
« on: February 21, 2003, 01:52:41 PM »
I wood connect my SME 5.6 Server to the german provider called T-Online. If I configure my SME Server to PPPoE, my server try to connect with an fixed IP Adress but for a connection to T-Online Ill need an dynamic IP Adr. distributed by my provider. Both dynamic IP Configurations  (DHCP with logon name and DHCP with MAC Adr.) won't work with T-Online. For A Connection I must activate PPPoE but with an dynamic IP Adr. Can anyone help me to connect to my Provider?

Many Thanx

SME 5.x works fine with T-Online.
Use:
1.    Server and gateway - dedicated
later use:
3.    Use PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)

Try it WITHOUT the "#" before the "0001@t-online.de".
(Dont ask me why, just try it)

Hi Peter,

i tried this but it dont help me. I showded in the configuration of the Server there is staying by the external interface:

No DHCP Server found (using Static IP)
IP Adress: 192.168.16.75
SubnetMask: 255.255.255.0

This confuse me because the Internet use the SubnetMask 0.0.0.0

Okay, lets swich to german (or anyone outside from germany has T-Online ?).

Folgende Fragen zur Klärung:
Wie ist der Server an DSL angeschlossen ?
- normales (!) Kabel an DSL-Modem (telekom)  ? oder
- irgendein anderer DSL Router  (wenn ja welcher)

Bitte möglichst genau beschreiben !

Dies ist ein Entwickler-Fourum ! Kein Support Fourm.
