Topic: SME 5.6 on IBM

I have an IBm NetVista with a P4 1.8 and an 80 gig hd and 384 RAM.  Everytime it starts formatting the system it goes to a red screen and crashes.  Does it have anything to do with the udma for the hard drive?  Help!

Is the drive empty?
I installed it on a drive that had an NTFS partition on it already and it did the same thing. I removed the partition before installing SME then it worked fine.
