Hi,
Sorry if this has been dealt with in the past - searching returned no results.
I'm running SME 5.6 w/ update 2 as a file/print/web server and gateway for my home network. My HP LJ 2100 is hooked up to the box's parallel port. Ever since installing SME, I have been able to print to the HP; I presume that it was automatically detected and set-up during installation. However, until today, I had only been printing standard, portrait-oriented, letter-sized documents. Today, when I attempted to print in landscape orientation (11x8.5, or "hot dog"), it wouldn't work. It appeared that the printer was still attempting to print portrait; only the left-side of the document was printed, and the bottom of the page was left blank.
Having read that the printer is controlled entirely by the windows drivers, I tried playing around with the settings in the "Printing Preferences" dialogue. However, no combination of settings seemed to work (including the obvious "landscape"). This surprised me, as setting the "landscape" option was all that was necessary when the HP was hooked up locally.
I then tried to check the options under "Printers" in the SME control panel. However, it seems that I cannot access that section; I simply get a "This page cannot be displayed" error following the "Please wait..." message. Could this have anything to do with the problem? I tried re-installing SME, but the Printers section remains inaccessible.
Any ideas?
