Topic: Problem with Webmail login after 5.6 upgrade

HI,

I have just upgraded my SME 5.5 server to version 5.6.  Most appears to ork fin except webmail,

From my internal network I can access  my email via outlook express but when I try to access any of the user accounts email via webmail it will not authenticate the username/password.

Webmail responds with:
"Login failed for some reason. Most likely your username or password was entered incorrectly"

I have reset passwords and checked the server-manager to see if webmail was turned of by the upgrade but all looks ok.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or thinks they may be able to help, please respond as I have tried everything with no avail.

Having the same problem.

Have you applied any mail contibs prior to upgrading (eg. upgrade to IMP 3.0 in 5.1.2, changing the default directories in 5.1.2 so that they appeared correctly in WebMail & Outlook, fetchnmail, etc.)? I have applied each of these, but nothing else I can remember.

Do you have anything in your boot.log (/var/logs/boot.log - specifically associated with horde)?

Hi Trevor,

Thanks...your email prompted me to look at upgrades and patches I had previously done and I have now sorted the problem out.

In August last year I had a problem with outlook and webmail looking at the same folder structure after upgrading to version 5.

Dan brown suggested a fix by making a custom template configuration file for the imap server with the folders line set to '' instead of 'Mail/'.

I have reversed out the process by removing the custom template and re-expanding the default template and all seems to now work fine.  

It appears that v5.5 format of thsio file is different than v5.6 and my custom template caused the login failure problem.
