Port Forwarding

I have tried all the port forwarding rpms and read all the forums on this subject. I still cannot get this to work. I am using 5.6. Does anyone have this problem and gotten it to work. I have installed

dmc-mitel-portopening-0.0.1-3.noarch.rpm

This includes packet filter

e-smith-packetfilter-1.13.0-07.noarch.rpm

which doesn't work.

So then I installed

e-smith-packetfilter-1.13.0-04.noarch.rpm

and typed

# rpm -Uvh --force e-smith-packetfilter-1.13.0-04.noarch.rpm --nodeps
# /sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
# service masq restart

That makes port OPENING work. For port FORWARDING it seems that you need

e-smith-portforwarding-0.1.0-20.noarch.rpm

which also includes

e-smith-packetfilter-1.13.0-07.noarch.rpm

which doesn't work.

So then I onstalled

e-smith-packetfilter-1.13.0-04.noarch.rpm

and typed

# rpm -Uvh --force e-smith-packetfilter-1.13.0-04.noarch.rpm --nodeps
# /sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
# service masq restart

and neither port opening or forwarding work ! Any suggestions ?

I was given the above, which I was assured worked. Have been fighting with this problem for a few months, have got to the stage now where I nearly give up!

I would not mind betting that the above will work for you, AS LONG AS THE MITEL IS THE DEFAULT GATEWAY!!

Sorry for the shout, because I wanted to port forward to a Win2K box via terminal services, unfortunately the Win2K is connected to the Net via another netcard, which did not have my Mitel as a gateway. Watched the packets fly back and forth via tcpdump.
Saw the request come in, saw it leave the mitel, saw the win2k answer back to my remote IP! Unfortunately it was via the Win2k box...
Anyway good luck..

Paul.
