smbmnt failed: 255

Hi,

Have had a good search of the archive, but cannot find anything about this message. I have used the flexbackup to a network share guide, and after testing it out last night, I received a message from Cron this morning. The first few lines say:

mount error: Device or resource busy
Please refer to the smbmnt(8) manual page
smbmnt failed: 255

Unfortunately I'm running 5.1.2 and it doesn't seem to have 'man' on it, so I can't do the suggested 'man smbmnt'.

The weird thing is it SEEMS to have backed up succesfully, there are 715MB of files in the network share, but I am a little worried about why I have got this message. It then goes on to say lots of things about what it seems to have backed up, but I'm not really sure it has backup up everything, as I think I have around 2GB of data (maybe it just zips it right up, I'm not sure...)
Anyway, any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Matt

Matt,

It looks to me as if you left the share mounted, and the mount command is failing because the share is already mounted. If that was the case, then the backup will have worked, as the script will have continued on.

P.S. The "man" RPM can be found on the CD you burned, in the RPMS directory.

Ahh,

Right, yes that'll be me making a mistake then! Thanks for that. And thanks for the hint on installing man, that'll make life easier!
