Topic: firewall configuration

I'm using version 5.6 of the SME Server and I'm trying to set up a VPN connection with a server at my job.  I've been setting this connection up with the assistance of tech from the job but, I've been experiencing some problems making the connection.  The system complains of 10048 socket error.  The tech indicated that it was due to the firewall.  He suggested the following set of instructions:

ip protocol 17 (udp) port 500
ip protocol 50 (esp)
ip protocol 51 (ah)

I have no idea how to implement these instructions or provide for them in the firewall.

Any suggestions?

Have you changed the remote access panel in server manager to allow incoming vpn connections from blank to 1 (or however many you need) ?.
At a basic level of usage, most changes are made in server manager and the correct ports etc are then configured automatically.
