Topic: Cannot receive outside email

Hi everybody,

I'm beginner, after I set the email server, I found that I cannot receive email from another domain, however, I can send email to outside and can send to the host local domain (e.g. admin@xxx.com send to edmondto@xxx.com is ok)

Is that the DNS problem.

and I found that if I set the SMTP server to send email in Eudora, it said the permission fail, actually, where can I set the right?

Hi,

Do you run the server as gateway and server or only as server? In the latter case you may have to open the right mail port on your firewall (POP3, port 110; SMTP, port 25).

Another thing, if you try to access the server with using an outside adress (say, mymailserver.net) while actually working on the LAN you may have problems. try to connect to the mailserver using the server LAN address (say 192.168.1.2 - or what you use).
