ISDN TA's
« on: May 16, 2003, 08:44:07 PM »
I am currently in the process of setting up a new server for some friends who have ISDN and am choosing to use the SME Server.  However, I cannot find anywhere a list of ISDN TA's that are supported by the latest release.

Will anyone of them work or is there a set list?

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

guestHH

almost all external's work, and many passive ISDN cards.

Thank you, but is there a guideline to follow as the main ISDN TA's available today are PCI with a modem built in.  Would these work?

From what I've read around the net the USB implimentation in the Highway box is not one of the best and likewise USB support in Linux can be interesting, though at least the latter is improving.

To be honest I think you would be better off getting a proper TA. Apart
from the well developed support in Linux and more mature hardware you also avoid the cable length limit of USB (5m I think).

Take a peek on eBay, I got a bare Elsa PCI card for less than £5 delivered the other day. 28 hits for "isdn pci" in a titles onIy search just now...

Cheers
Dave.
