So what is the "saying something about" part ?? You need to give us the exact message.

The requested URL could not be retrieved

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://server/server-manager

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for coastallabels.co.za
The dnsserver returned:

Name Error: The domain name does not exist.
This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.

Your cache administrator is admin@coastallabels.co.za

this is the message it gives me, i tried to ping the host , and it found it without delay. any idea's?

If I surf to http://www.coastallabels.co.za/ I get a message from Interexcel, who I assume is registering/hosting yourdomain name for you. You need to get them to redirect the site to your own server (assuming you wish to host that domain on your own server). Contact Interexcel.

I can ping coastallabels.co.za and I get a reply from IP of 160.124.109.1, is that your server gateway IP or is that Interexcel ?

hi there sorry to mail you off list
the ip you gave is'nt for the server/gateway
i have a internal ip for server/gateway
what i did was say for instances my adsl routers ip was 196.168.10.1 i made the sme boxes ip 196.168.10.2
if i made it the same the host name would be something different to what i set it to be, where it should be coastallabels.co.za it is something like blah.blah.co.uk
the way things are now is pretty much ok i set the domain as coastallabels without the .co.za, its just now the mail that is set up on the box will be 'blah@coastallabels" and that wont work,
anyway...if you can think of something that can help , please by all means help!
thanks

Are you hosting your own web site and email server on your sme box using your registered domain name?
If so you have to get your external DNS & MX records set to point to your gateway (contact the company who registered your domain name for this), and you need to setup your sme server and router correctly. There have been a number of posts about doing this on these forums.

Have you read the manual about how to set these things up, if not you need to carefully read it, it is online and on the instal CD in the documentation folder.

To access server manager you could use
http://196.168.10.2:980
until you get your settings/hostings sorted out
