non-delivery not reported by mailserver

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with not getting alerted when email is not delivered externally.
My setup:
Internally we have Exchange 2000.
SME 5.6 is used as relay server. Several domains are defined on the SME box.
Mail to an unknown user on one of these domains is reported to me as postmaster by the Exchange servers.
Mail to wrong addresses or other reasons (e.g. size exceeded) sent from within the LAN to outside hosts is not reported to the administrator.
In the case of a bad address the sender gets a NDR.
In the case of a message after sending such as this:

"delivery 1170: failure: 194.109.6.50_failed_after_I_sent_the_message./Remote_host_said:_552_5.2.3_Message_exceeds_maximum_fixed_size_(15000000)/"

the sender and the postmaster do not get any message at all.

The reasons for failure are counted properly in the mail log analysis of server-manager. But I would rather have an administrative email.

Anybody out there that recognizes this and perhaps even an idea for a solution?

Kind greetings,
Thony
