This note follows from another note I posted a few days ago. I suspect the problem is, as usual, between the seat and keyboard here.
When a Apple mail.app client attempts to get mail for the first time of the day, this message often results: The server ?bigServer.mydomain.com? can not be contacted on port 110.
Subsequent attempts work without any problems. To my knowledge there is no mail missing.
I am beginning to form some idea of where the problem is, but I am trying not to be presumptuous. Following a previous suggestion I have refreshed the password keys file for the MacOS X client machine. That did not seem to fix the problem, although I am double checking the procedure I followed.
Anyone have an idea of what to look at?
