Webmail won't allow login.

Webmail won't allow login.
« on: June 10, 2003, 08:12:03 PM »
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I set the server uplast night and all seems to be working fine.

But this afternoon I since a reboot I cannot log into the webmail....

"Login failed for some reason. Most likely your username or password was entered incorrectly."

I have checked the uname passwd several times and it works fine with ftp ssh etc.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
James

Try this:

/sbin/e-smith/expand-template /home/httpd/html/horde/imp/config/servers.php

Doesn't seem to make any difference. Is there any way to do a vanilla install of the IMP bit?

Just tried to login via ssh to re-run that config screen as admin and ssh kicked me off just before it would normally start.... Dont know what has happened.

Don't know either, but it sounds odd.  Can you log in with a normal mail client with the ID and password you were using?

No I tried that last night and then gave up, managed to pull the existing mail off via ftp and re-installed all working OK now!

Thanks for your help though.

Hey guys...

I just got the same problem when logging onto IMP 3.2.1 webmail after upgrading following Dan's how-to.  I have SME 5.5 w/ Update 6 installed.

My username/password is good - as I can login locally on the LAN.  I also know the 'admin' account credentials are good - since I can access server-manager okay.

Seems to just be IMP/Horde.   I tried Dan's suggestion of running "/sbin/e-smith/expand-template /home/httpd/html/horde/imp/config/servers.php" but that didn't seem to help.  (Was I supposed to reboot or do anything else after running the cmd?)

So James - did you end up reinstalling 3.2.1 or did you uninstall and reinstall a lesser version, ie 3.0 ?

Thanks for your help,
Drew

Hey guys,

Below is a portion of my 'Messages' log file from the time when I tried logging into webmail using the 'admin' account - note the PHP messages.

Any ideas what's happening and what I could do to correct the problem?

I gave up in the end and just re-installed the whole server, I had only had it up and running a few days, not too much stuff to recover.

Since then the server has been running fine (fingers crossed).

Still trying to learn as much as poss about linux, difficult to know where to start though sometimes.

I also had the same problem.  I had been playing around with different configs, which included setting up a new SSL Certificate and changing IP addresses on both internal & external interfaces, but I've no idea whether this was the cause as I was doing other stuff as well.

I also did a re-install - or rather an Update - from my original boot CD. (V6-Beta1). This way it only took a short time and kept all my config etc.  Hey presto - webmail up & running again.

You need to reinit your sql database.  Recreating the horde framework fixes the problem.  This seems to happen when people don't exit the webmail properly.
