Topic: HELP! - cannot send or receive mail

HI

My server was working fine yesterday.

Today I am unable to send or receive email.

I have a server set up as a server/gateway - which delegates to the main server.  I cannot see any differences between the settings , ownerships, permissions on the 2 but cannot send mail from the main server. The other works fine if I use it as the smtp address.

I am not sure which log files to check for the problem or wher to start looking for the problem. Why would it suddenly change?

I have reinstalled the qmail rpm package from the cd, -- replacepkgs, but that did not help

I have also restarted the server a few times

You could start by checking out your /var/log/messages file, and see whether there is anything there, that's where you'll find most of your log files.
