Cisco 761 Not staying connected on permanent ISDN
« on: July 20, 2003, 06:42:30 AM »
Have configured Cisco 761 to permanent ISDN, everything connects fine but after a period of inactivity about 8 minutes it disconnects after first going to idle on the monitor. Ch 2 always goes down first. When connected all web traffic is OK. Have tried 2 routers and same scenario have documentation and software. The stupid thing has disconnected while I typed this!! Need serious help! Routers were set up after returning to defaults.

Have tried just about everything to keep this service alive all the time. If there is no LAN activity to the router first the B then the A channel go back to idle. Shortly after the A channel goes to idle the line is deactivated. LAN activity to the router does not cause it to "wake up" and connect to the A channel again? Two routers same problem?

Shouldn't you ask your question on a forum specific to Cisco router setup?

Possibly if I could find one, I have looked, forgot to mention that am using SME 5.6 and was anticipating somebody on this usually very good group could be helpful and point me in the correct direction if they were using a similar configuration. I don't need the obvious being stated to me just now.
