Topic: My e-mail doesn't arrive

Hi again,

I don't know if this is an ISP or QMAIL or E-Smith question but sending E-mails to info@bsys.be (my server running E-smith as server) don't arrive at all. I had a look at the log files under /var/log/qmail and evrything seems to be ok!

Any ideas what I could do??? I've been searching on this problem for a couple of weeks now

Some more details would help.

1. If you send email to info@bsys.be from within your network does it work?

2. Is this the only email address that doesn't work on this server?

3. Are you set to dedicated or dialup? If you set it to dedicated you have to have a dedicated IP address and your ISP has to have you setup properly in their DNS.

4. Are you hosting your own web on your e-smith server? If so I can see that just fine.

Thanks for the suggestions Phil, I have found the answer to my nightmare! You see, I am running my E-smith-box as Server (not as gateway) and everything is connected to my hub, that is connected to a Flowpoint firewall/router, that is connected to a ADSL modem. The problem now is that when you install E-smith, the software generates the different /var/named files incorrectly. If I don't change the IP addresses of my www, mail hosts (and probably also ftp, but I am not up to that point now) to my fixed IP address that I received from my ISP, my webpages won't be published onto the internet AND I won't  receive any e-mails at all!! There is something really missing at the E-smith installation here, as I see it, this can't be the idea that I have to change the IP address all the time when I install a new version of E-smith, or when I add a new virtual host??
